Toddlers
For ages 2-3 years old
Our Toddler Room is a lively and engaging environment designed for our bubbly tiny tots! At this stage, children are eager to explore, communicate and interact which is when we see their personalities really begin to flourish.
The room
The room follows a gentle but structured daily routine which helps children feel secure and understand what to expect throughout the day. Each day includes a variety of themed activities that support learning through play and encourage children to explore new ideas and experiences.
Circle time
Circle time is an important part of our day, where children come together for stories, songs and simple learning activities such as flashcards. These group moments help support early language development, listening skills, confidence in communicating with staff & peers and turn taking.
Interactive play
Throughout the day, children enjoy a wide range of play experiences including sensory play, construction activities and creative art. Imaginative play becomes a big part of this stage, and the introduction of dress-up encourages children to expand their imagination, explore different roles and express themselves creatively. With this, children begin to move from solely engaging in parallel play to more interactive play, helping to strengthen friendships and develop important social skills.
Transition
The Toddler Room can act as a ‘transition’ room in many ways, specifically regarding toileting and sleeping arrangements. This room is where many children begin their potty-training journey which we are more than happy to help with! We know this can be a daunting experience at times so our team works closely with parents to support this important milestone with patience, encouragement and consistency.
Children in the Toddler Room can sometimes have a change in sleeping arrangements too. All children have the option to sleep if they need rest during the day, but those who no longer nap can continue enjoying play and activities. We are happy to follow each child’s sleep routine from home, including restricting nap times where required.
Mealtimes
Toddlers experience mealtimes in our separate dining room area, giving the children their own space to sit together, enjoy their meals and make mealtime a social event in the day.
The Toddler Room is always full of laughter, imagination and busy little learners discovering something new every day!
