Baby Room 2
For ages 0-2 years old
Baby Room 2 is a bright and engaging space designed for babies who are mobile and curious about the world around them. At this stage, children really begin to grow in confidence, explore their surroundings and begin interacting more with others.
The room
The room provides a warm and supportive environment where children are encouraged to explore, play and discover at their own pace. While care and nurturing is our daily practice, Baby Room 2 introduces a little more structure to the day to help children begin to understand simple routine.
Everyday skills
This room begins to focus more on helping children develop important everyday skills. Children are encouraged to practice using utensils during mealtimes, make small choices throughout the day such as choosing which toys to play with or which books to read, and begin developing their language skills through music time, singing songs and stories.
Our staff gently support early social skills such as sharing, turn taking and learning to play alongside others. These early interactions help children begin to build familiarity with peers whilst develop confidence and become independent in their own abilities.
Activities
Activities in Baby Room 2 are carefully planned to support each child’s development and growing curiosity. Children are introduced to slightly more challenging experiences that encourage creativity and problem-solving. Messy play is an important part of the day, allowing children to explore different textures, colours and materials while expressing themselves freely. This is great for sensory development & encouraging the children to discover their likes & dislikes.
Learning and play
The room offers a variety of areas designed to support different types of learning and play. Our home corner encourages imaginative play, while the cosy corner provides a quiet space for stories and independent play. Our themed tuff tray activities offer hands-on learning, helping to keep each day busy and engaging across a range of learning experiences.
Exploring
In Baby Room 2, we encourage children to explore, try new things and develop their independence, while still receiving the reassurance, care and support they need during this important stage.
