Our Afterschool Room provides a welcoming space for children to unwind and have fun after a busy day at school.
Wraparound service
We offer a wraparound service with collection from Waringstown Primary School, Kings Park Primary School, Bleary Primary School, St Francis Primary School and Carrick Primary School, helping to make afternoons easier for busy families (schools subject to change).
The room
After a full day at school, children arrive ready to spend time with friends and enjoy a change of pace. The room offers a calm but fun environment where children can relax while still having plenty to keep them engaged.
Homework
We provide time and support for children to complete their homework, with staff available to help if needed. Once homework is finished, children are free to choose from a variety of activities based on their interests. Creative activities are particularly popular in this room, with many children enjoying art, drawing and craft projects.
Many of these art activities link directly to our monthly themes in the room and the children are always so proud to see their masterpieces on our display boards!
Play
Alongside this, children can play with the air hockey table, engage with tabletop games or read a book on the sofa, allowing the children to enjoy some downtime and a range of activities that suit their interests.
Making new friends
As we collect from several different schools, the Afterschool Room also gives children the opportunity to mix with friends from a range of schools, similar to Senior Preschool. This helps children build new friendships while developing confidence and social skills in an environment they are comfortable with.
From homework time to art projects and games with friends, afternoons in Afterschool are always busy!
