Outdoor play is an important part of life at Wonder World Day Care
All weather outdoor spaces
Our three outdoor play areas are designed as all-weather spaces so children can enjoy being outside throughout the year. Each area is fitted with artificial grass, allowing children to play comfortably whatever the season, with puddle suits ready for the children, for those inevitable rainy days.
Big Play Area
Big Play Area
Our main outdoor play area includes a large open space where children can run, play and enjoy a wide range of activities. Around the edge of the area, a pathway allows children to ride trikes, bikes, bubble cars, scuttle bugs and scooters, helping to develop balance, coordination and gross motor skills while having fun with their friends.
We also have a variety of play equipment including balls, skipping ropes and a basketball hoop, giving the children plenty of opportunities to stay active, whilst enhancing a range of physical abilities.

Courtyard Play Area
Courtyard Play Area
Our courtyard play area is designed especially with our younger children in mind, providing a developmentally friendly outdoor space for physical play such as climbing, crawling & balancing. The courtyard is surrounded by large floor-to-ceiling windows, with doors leading directly from the corridor, toddler room and dining room.
At the centre of the courtyard is a climbing frame designed for our younger children aged 0–3 years, featuring a small climbing wall, slide and tunnel underneath. This equipment helps children safely develop coordination and confidence as they begin exploring and challenging their physical skills which we are so grateful to witness & aid with!

Attached to our Junior Preschool room is a dedicated outdoor play area centred around a large climbing frame, a firm favourite with the 3–5-year-olds! The climbing frame features steps, a climbing wall, a rope climbing section and a raised platform at the top, giving children plenty of opportunities to develop their spatial awareness and strength.
This area also includes a reading bench, which becomes a lovely spot for children to sit with a book during the warmer months. We also have tables and chairs in the space, allowing tabletop activities to be taken outdoors, bringing learning and play from inside the playroom into the fresh air.
